MISSION
1. Bring the nursery and primary school library (BCD) to life and discover it through special activities to promote the joys of reading and encountering other cultures. 2. Through specific actions and projects, promote reading and a love of books for all sections (nursery, primary, and secondary).
ACTIONS
Projets : Storytelling night in December, a book festival, and a reading club on Tuesdays during the lunch break (for P students). We’re also looking forward to launching the second edition of the “Spring Reading Festival” and reading times offered to our children during the lunch break.
Equipment: When new books arrive at the BCD, we must register them digitally in the computer database (Hibouthèque) and file them in the appropriate location in the library.
Signage: We inform readers by arranging the books so that every BCD user knows how to put them away and how to look for a book that suits their tastes. This is all the more important as there are books in both French and English (and soon in other languages!).
Loans: Since December 2022, the BCD has had the technology necessary to lend books. We are working on developing a satisfactory loan/return system, not only for teachers, but especially for students and their families who want to read books other than their own
TEAM
Parents of students in the English and French sections, depending on their availability and their interest in the proposed projects. No specific skills are required, but the group leader is a teacher-documentalist with experience of running a school library.
